ABS-CBN maintained its nationwide leadership in TV ratings last month, as 15 of its programs swept the list of the most watched shows in the country in October.

First aired on October 29, "A Beautiful Affair" starring John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo and John Estrada already managed a 13th place showing in the list of 15 most watched programs in the country last month, with a national TV rating of 23.9%, according to Kantar Media.

According to the latest data of multinational market research group Kantar Media, ABS-CBN in October posted a 10-point lead over its nearest competitor, with an average national audience share of 42%, compared to the GMA-7's 32%.

This is reflected in the day-to-night nationwide viewership of the Kapamilya network, with its primetime offerings posting the widest lead over their counterparts on GMA-7.

Primetime programs are those aired from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight.

For the month of October, ABS-CBN garnered an average audience share of 48% in primetime, while GMA suffered a slight decrease in the same block to 28% from 30%.

Two of ABS-CBN's "Primetime Bida" programs which ended their run last month, "Walang Hanggan" and "Lorenzo's Time," figured in the top 15 most watched programs nationwide, with the Coco Martin-starrer taking the No. 1 spot with an average rating of 36.4%.

"Lorenzo's Time," meanwhile, took the 12th spot in the list, with 24.3% in average national TV rating.

Another recently concluded Kapamilya TV show, the reality singing competition "The X Factor Philippines," was a favorite among Filipino viewers last month. Its results shows aired Sundays averaged 24.5% in national TV ratings, making the show the 11th most watched show in the country.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's flagship newscast "TV Patrol" remains unmoved as the most trusted source of news in the country. According to Kantar Media, it was the fifth most watched program nationwide with an average rating of 31.1%.

During daytime in October, the Kapamilya network was led by "Be Careful With My Heart" in the ratings game. With an average nationwide rating of 23.3%, the Jodi Sta. Maria soap became the 14th most watched program last month.

The back-to-back Sunday offerings of ABS-CBN - the kiddie gag show "Goin' Bulilit" and the current affairs program "Rated K" - were in the 10th and ninth spot respectively in the same list - despite the return of "Extra Challenge" on GMA-7.

On Saturdays, the fantasy anthology "Wansapanataym" and the longest-running drama anthology in Asia, "Maalaala Mo Kaya," were also weekend staples for more Filipinos in October, making them the third and fourth most watched programs in the country.
