Get To Know Andrew James Wolff, Mister World Philippines 2012 Official Delegate
LONDON, England - With 6 days left before the much awaited Mister World 2012 in London, let's get to know the official Philippine representative - Andrew James Wolff.
In his bio in the official Mister World website, Andrew James Wolf describes himself as an extremely competitive person, with an intense interest in business and sport. Andrew is part of the Philippine national rugby union team, playing as a flanker. His proudest achievement was beating South Korea to book their place in the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens Final in Moscow, the first time the Philippines have done so. In his spare time Andrew likes to play the violin, football, and badminton. His ambitions for the future are to become an established sports event organiser, building on his current business he has set up, and also to finish his degree in Finance.
Mister World organizers interviewed roomies Mr. Northern Ireland and Mr. Philippines, and here's what has transpired:
How have you found the Mr World Competition so far?
Philippines: Everything has been great. I really wasn't expecting everyone to get on so well, the closeness of our group is something I didn't anticipate. I was expecting a really fierce rivalry for the whole time we are here, but when we aren't competing there is more of a camaraderie between us. It's every man for himself in the events though. In terms of my favourite part of the experience, I would say yesterday's trip to London has been the highlight for me.
Northern Ireland: I would agree, everyone has gotten on so well and it has been great. I've really enjoyed getting to know all the contestants from around the world, and having individual chats with them all. My favourite experience so far has been our trip to the ghost pub. It was a real ice breaker, where everyone was really relaxed, and could be themselves in a more casual environment. That was really cool.
What have you learnt about your roommate?
Northern Ireland: That he is one hell of a dancer! I'm very jealous of that. He also likes to bring back lots of snacks to the room, which is good for me, as he is such a nice fella that he shares them with me. He always has something to eat in his pocket.
Philippines: I think if there was a Mr Congeniality Competition, he would win it hands down. He just seems to get on with everybody, and is always happy. I find it much more difficult at times, when I'm tired or hungry it's not so easy for me, but Northern Ireland just gets on with everyone! Oh, and also he likes to eat eggs. Lots of eggs. He will put the hotel out of business with his egg eating.
Who makes the most mess?
Northern Ireland: Probably me on that one.
Philippines: Well we both do really. We don't smell bad though, so it's not really a problem. I would say it's more of an organised chaos than a mess.
Northern Ireland: Yeah that's what I would say too. It works though, we are guys; it doesn't need to be totally tidy.
Philippines: Although I can't find my name badge. It's not lost though, I just organised it somewhere I can't remember.
Who is in control of the iPod/TV Remote?
Philippines: Well we have no problem there. We have been watching the hotel's music channel. We harmonize together over the songs that they play. We are a two man boyband!
Northern Ireland: Yesterday we had Peter Andre hosting the top 50 Love Ballads of all time. We had Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, Take That! It was so bad that it was good.
Philippines: And number one was Avril Lavigne. I wasn't happy with that, a poor choice.
Northern Ireland: But I love that song.
Philippines: I would say Mysterious Girl should have been number one.
(Both Laugh)
So what are you most looking forward to?
Philippines: I'm most looking forward to finishing the physical challenges that the man from the Army adjudicates. He's really tough on us, and it's quite painful! He pushes us hard, but he only wants us to do our best. To really see what the limits of what we can do. He just wants us to really go for it. After those challenges, I don't think I will find anything so difficult anymore!
Northern Ireland: I'm really looking forward to going back to London again. I really enjoyed our trip their yesterday, and can't wait to get back for the Multimedia challenge.
