A strong quake measured at magnitude 6.5 hit Surigao del Sur before dawn Saturday, November 3, reports the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. Tectonic in origin, the earthquake struck about 22 kilometers Northeast of Tandag in the said province at 2:17 AM, the agency said.
