Aljur Abrenica & Kris Bernal's Primetime Series Coffee Prince Will Go Off Air This November 23
MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7's primetime series "Coffee Prince" starring Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal will go off air on November 23 only after 7 weeks of airing.
According to its female lead star Kris Bernal, GMA 7 only signed a 7-week contract with MBC or Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation in Korea to make the Filipino adaptation of its high-rated series "Coffee Prince".
Coffee Prince was originally aired in 2007 via MBC in Korea with only 17 episodes starring Yoon Eun-Hye and Gong Yoo while the Philippine adaptation first aired only last month October 8 and apparently will end on November 23.
Kris Bernal also stressed out that GMA 7 tried to get an extension for Coffee Prince from MBC but the network mogul in Korea denied the request as they are strict in providing franchises.
Coffee Prince will be replaced by an upcoming drama series "Pariham Ng Sandali" starring Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins and Lorna Tolentino.
